Cedar Lane Stable lends itself well to the training and managing of Paso Fino Horses. Shaw begins training each horse slowly in the round-pen where they first learn proper ground-work, lunging, and the fundamentals of being under saddle. Once the horses are responsive and flexible, they are then ridden on the trails and country roads where they are exposed to variety of things. Each horse is trained according to its capabilities as well as to suit the needs of the rider. Shaw's training philosophies are centered around trust and respect from the horse as well as good communication between him and the horse.
